Investigating the Rise, Discussions and Manipulation of Socio-Political Trends on X (Twitter) In India
I conducted an in-depth research study analysing a prominent online campaign in India, where I investigated the discourse on social platform X for manipulation. I leveraged advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) models using Python to translate multi-lingual posts, evaluate sentiments and detect nuanced stances within these complex online discussions. I implemented a novel metric based on relevant research papers to identify manipulation in these digital narratives. I also skillfully created data visualisations that included word clouds and time series graphs that enabled extracting valuable insights from the discourse. This multi-faceted research approach contributed to the understanding of the evolving role of social media in shaping public perceptions and provided a foundation for addressing challenges arising from digital manipulation.
Understanding Social Isolation in the Ageing Population of the UK
This project delves into an in-depth examination of social isolation experienced by ageing individuals who participated in the ELSA wave 7 study. Using SPSS and leveraging statistical tools such as Chi-square tests and binary logistic regression, I aimed to unravel the nuanced interplay between social isolation and various demographic and socio-economic factors, including age, gender, education levels, and the frequency of alcohol and internet use.
Analysing Maternal Mortality and the Factors Associated with it
I employed data visualization techniques to investigate the primary causes of maternal mortality in countries that faced the most severe challenges in this regard. Through visual representations, I delineated the disparities in these contributing factors between countries that excelled in addressing maternal mortality and those that faced challenges in this regard. This endeavour underscores my adeptness in utilizing R as well as my skill in employing data visualizations as a compelling tool to emphasize critical insights.
